Pharmaceutical inspection is judged twice: once by the process and once by the record. A decision that cannot be evidenced afterwards is worth very little when the batch is reviewed.
The visual problems are demanding in their own right — tablets that vary within specification, blisters where every cavity must be verified, printed serialisation that must be both readable and correct, and tamper evidence that must be intact.
